When It all began
In 2006, after battling with cancer for six short months, my younger sister Reizi, passed away at the tender age of ten years old.
I was twelve.
To help me navigate the inner feelings of pain, I started writing and composing.
I had a lot of questions.
In 2014 I recorded my first song in Choni Grunblatt's album called "La Vita" which I claimed it was about the Holocaust, but when I said words like "Since I can't see your smile, my heart laughs no more" it was really about my sister Reizi.
Time doesn't heal, it just dries your tears.
In the summer of 2017 I met iZZY D JaY and we released my first single "Unspoken" in January 2018.
In 2019, I finally went to therapy and I managed to confront my twelve year old self and let him know that it's ok to accept that we don't understand, that you will never heal if you're looking for a reason.
You just can't see it now.
A major step in healing is acceptance. It took me ten years to go visit my sister's grave; I thought if I denied it, she wouldn't die. But really, once I was able to let go, I gave her new life. I learned that humans are incredibly fragile, yet resilient. We all have traumas, but we make the choice to pick ourselves up.
One year ago, my own Baby Reizi was born.
"Dry tears" is my story.
I can't wait to share more music with you.
If by listening to my music you find the courage to start healing, and get the feeling that you matter no matter what, I have accomplished my goal.
In this interview I go into more detail as to how this song began.
